Attack To Islam, Why??

Assalamualaikum,

Recently, I've been hearing a lot of attack from the non-muslims and also the 'muslim' itself. When we want to do amar ma'ruf and nahi mungkar, the voice come that Islam disturb the privacy and the human rights. And Islam being label as extremist by the western mass media. Until now, a disease spread where no doctor can cure it; "Islamophobia".

Why people are so afraid to Islam? Is it Islam teach us be violence, to kill all people who are not muslim or to avoid having any connection with them? NO!! if you read the holy quran, there is no word saying that you should kill those non-muslim, but those who oppressed and threaten you, fight them but leave the children, women and the elders unharmed. Read the stories of war during Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Didn't it shows that Islam is the religion of peace? But yet, why Islamophobia spread?

Is it Islam have flaws in its teaching? Absolutely wrong. Islam is perfect. If Islam have flaws, why most academician, scientist and professionals in the western, revert back to Islam? (I don't like to use the word convert, because we are Muslim before we were born, so I use revert). Contradict to that, most normal muslim people convert to other religion. Why is this happens?

The answer is the Muslims itself. What is the different between the professionals and the normal muslim/people? The scientist, academician and the professional, when they want to know about Islam, they study the Islamic teaching from the genuine text and reliable sources. But most of us, who got confused with Islam, did they read the holy quran and try to understand it? Did they seek the ulama' and ustaz? Did they look for the genuinity of a hadith? No!! Then, what did they study? They study the Muslims..

Not all Muslims is a good muslim. Some of them are practicing it half-half, some mix it with culture (what I mean is the culture that exhibit bad morality and contradict with Islamic teaching) and some of them pretend to become a great Islamic Scholars, but confusing the Muslim. So, Islamic teaching is flawless, just that the muslims who presents that they are muslim, wrongly. (Ustaz Ismail Kamus said, "niat baik, teknik salah")

A qoute from a video series in youtube, The Reminder, Ali said : "If you want to know about Islam, go study Islam, don't study the muslims". But, however, most of us tend to study from the muslims. So what we do and act, is what they will see about Islam. So, for my brothers and sisters in Islam, please... behave well and show good akhlak.

So, what should we do? We know that Islam is beautiful and did not oppressed people. Islam liberated us from total darkness. So, we should exhibit the beauty in Islam in our daily life. Let me give you some tips (a tips for me also):

1) Don't ever leave your prayer or pray late until the end of the period. This shows the discipline of Islam. And when you hear the Azan, stop your work and answer the call. Find the nearest mosque or musolla, or you can pray everywhere (if there are no mosque or it is to far). When you do that, people will see that muslim is very discipline.

2) Be punctual or even better, be early in whatever good things we do. Come to lectures early (I need this reminder) and people will see that Islam teach the followers to become punctual.

3) Excel in your academics to create more Islamic scholars and professionals.

4) Behave well and have a good manner. Always smile whenever you receive a harsh word and criticism. Don't ever get angry with them (except they insult our god, prophet or Islam)

So, show the true beauty of Islam. And for those muslims who want to know more about Islam, seek your ustaz or ulama'. Don't take an article or a person saying that he is the so-called Islamic scholars without proper certificates and understanding about Islam as your teacher, they will make you confused.
